DTU Management Engineering aims to develop and utilise knowledge about Systems Analysis, Production and Service Management, Management Science, and Technology and Innovation Management to benefit society. In that way the Department contributes to knowledge based growth and welfare with focus on competitiveness, productivity, sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship. Research and education at DTU Management Engineering is carried out in close cooperation with international research environments and industrial and public partners.

The Department’s research is divided in five divisions and two centres with different disciplinary perspectives:   System Analysis; Production and Service Management; Quantitative Sustainability Assessment; Management Science; Technology and Innovation Management; UNEP Centre; and DTU Business.

DTU Management Engineering has 279 employees consisting of 139 academic staff, 68 PhD students and 72 technical and administrative staff. Furthermore, we employ a large number of external associate professors each term which contribute to making our education programmes relevant by including cases from the business sector. More than 20 % of our employees are from abroad and in all 38 different nationalities are represented at the Department.

DTU Transports har som målsætning at finde løsninger til en effektiv indretning af transportsektoren i lyset af dens tre store udfordringer: Trængsel, klima/miljøproblematikken samt trafiksikkerhed. Instituttet er således placeret i grænseområdet mellem samfundsvidenskab og teknisk naturvidenskab, og vores forskere er ingeniører, økonomer, psykologer samt personer med andre faglige specialiseringer. Forskningen har fokus på at forstå transportsystemet og dets anvendelse med henblik på at kunne vurdere konsekvenserne af forbedringer såsom infrastrukturprojekter og policy-tiltag og andre reguleringsinitiativer. En væsentlig del af den videnskabelige tilgang er at forstå og forklare individuel trafikantadfærd, dvs. brugernes optimering af deres transportaktiviteter og infrastrukturforvalternes optimering af kapacitetsudnyttelsen, inklusive brugen af intelligente transportsystemer (ITS).

DTU Transport ‘s research is targeted on finding solutions for an efficient design of the transport sector in the light of the three principal challenges of the sector, i.e. congestion, emissions of greenhouse gasses and other environmental impacts and traffic safety. Scientifically, the department is therefore placed in the borderland between social sciences and technical science, and our researchers are engineers, economists, psychologists and other specialists. Our research is focused on understanding the transport system and its utilisation in order to assess the consequences of improvements of the transport system such as infrastructure projects as well as policy instruments and other regulatory initiatives. The approaches also include understanding and explaining individual user behaviour, i.e. the users’ optimisation of their transport activities and the infrastructure managers’ optimisation of the capacity utilisation, including the use of intelligent transport systems.

IT-Universitetet i København (ITU) er et selvstændigt, dansk universitet, som blev oprettet i 1999. Gennem vores forskning og uddannelser gør vi Danmark usædvanligt dygtig til at skabe værdi med it. For os er it meget mere og andet end nuller og ettaller. Vi ser det store billede, og går lige så meget op i pragmatik og hvordan it påvirker os som mennesker, som i at hard- og software fungerer optimalt. Op mod 2.500 studerende, 65 Ph.d.-studerende og knap 70 fuldtidsforskere deler den holdning til it. IT-Universitetet er det universitet i Danmark, der uddanner flest it-kandidater. PitLab på IT Universitetet samler forskningsprojekter inden for menneske-maskin interaktion (HCI), computerunderstøttet samarbejde (CSCW) og allesteds-nærværende computer (Ubiquitous Computing).

Established in 1999, the IT University (ITU) of Copenhagen is an independent Danish university. Through our research and educations we make Denmark exceptionally good at creating value with IT. To us, IT is much more than zero’s and one’s. We view the big picture and care just as much about pragmatism and how IT affects us as human beings as whether hard- and software is functioning properly. Close to 2,500 students, 65 PhD students and around 70 full-time researchers share this attitude towards IT. The IT University delivers more MSc’s in IT than any other university in Denmark. The PitLab at ITU hosts a wide range of research activities within Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), and Ubiquitous Computing.

Institut for Psykologi på Københavns Universitet er Danmarks største og ældste psykologiske forsknings- og uddannelsesinstitution. Instituttet optager ca. 210 nye studerende om året på den 3-årige bacheloruddannelse. På kandidatniveau optages desuden et mindre antal studerende udefra, således at der årligt færdiggøres ca. 250 kandidater med ret til at bære den lovbeskyttede titel cand.psych. Der er på instituttet ansat ca. 40 adjunkter, lektorer og professorer samt omkring 10 postdocs og mere end 60 ph.d.-studerende. Desuden er der tilknyttet ca. 50 eksterne lektorer til at bidrage til undervisningen.

The Department of Psychology (DoP) at the University of Copenhagen is the largest and oldest department in Denmark for education and research within the field of Psychology. Each year, the DoP accepts more than 210 new students into the 3-year entry level bachelor education. At master level, the DoP accepts a smaller number of students from other universities resulting in more than 250 students finishing their master’s degree with the right to carry the protected title cand.psych. The DoP employs approx. 40 assistant professors, associate professors and professors. In addition, approx. 10 postdocs, more than 60 Ph.D. students and 50 external lecturers are providing the required competent level of teaching and education of the students.

Dansk Institut for Medicinsk Simulation (DIMS) er en forsknings- og udviklingsenhed, som udbyder simulationsbaserede kurser for både sundhedsfagligt personale og andre faggrupper med det formål at øge kvaliteten og sikkerheden i patientbehandlingen. DIMS tilhører Region H. Instituttet er beliggende på 25. og 26. etage på Herlev Hospital, samt kælderen K1. Der er omkring 30 fastansatte, og hundredvis af tilknyttede instruktører og figuranter.

Danish Institute for Medical Simulation is a research and development unit, which offers simulation based courses for health care professionals and other groups, with the purpose of increasing quality and safety in patient treatment. DIMS belongs to the Capital Region of Denmark. The institute is located at the 25. and 26. floor of Herlev Hospital, as well as in the cellar K1. DIMS has about 30 full-time employees and hundreds of attached instructors and patient-actors.

FORCE Technology er et selvejende teknologisk serviceinstitut, der er godkendt af Ministeriet for Forskning, Innovation og Videregående Uddannelser. Instituttet arbejder inden for en bred vifte af ingeniøropgaver og har 1200 medarbejdere, hovedsageligt i Danmark, Norge og Sverige, men vi er også repræsenteret i Singapore, Kina og USA. Vores væsentligste bidrag til dette netværk er aktiviteterne og medarbejderne i Afdelingen for Anvendt Psykologi. Afdelingen leverer rådgivning og løsninger inden for designpsykologi, arkitektur- og miljøpsykologi, forbrugerpsykologi og sikkerhedspsykologi til private og offentlige virksomheder og institutioner.

FORCE Technology is a self-owned technological service institute approved by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education. The company is engaged in a broad variety of engineering activities and has 1200 employees located mainly in Denmark, Norway and Sweden but is also represented in Singapore, China and USA. The activities and persons in the Department of Applied Psychology are the main players engaged in this network. The department provides consultancy and solutions within design psychology, architectural and environmental psychology, consumer psychology and safety psychology to private and public companies and institutions.
